Here’s a calendar of Grow Dat on the Geaux neighborhood meetings, Saturday programs, and special events.
Saturday Program
Join us for our monthly Saturday morning program from 9:30 to 11 AM! Get active with a fun exercise session, and dive into garden and nutrition classes led by guest speakers and farming experts. It's a great way to stay healthy, gain valuable skills, and connect with others—don’t miss out! The location may change but will remain consistently in the Central City area. Children are welcome and refreshments are available.
Community Resource Fair
Join us for our November neighborhood meeting and learn about organizations improving food access, housing, transportation, and physical and mental health in Central City. If you are an organization that would like to join please email kaya@growdatyouthfarm.org.
Neighborhood Meeting
Join us for a community conversation about increasing access to nutritious and local produce and education in the Central City neighborhood. Our meetings are often a group discussion with guest speakers you input is valued and needed. All participants will receive a stipend, catered dinner, and produce when fresh produce, when available. All Tuesday neighborhood meetings are from 5:30 to 7 pm at Progressive Baptist Church 1214 S Robertson St.

Spring Garden Refresh
Come and get your hands dirty as we refresh the community garden. We will be preparing our soil for the warmer temperatures and planting all of the springtime favorites.

Community Story Circle
For our Grow Dat on the Geaux Garden Work Day on Saturday, October 26th we are excited to welcome back Cooperation Gumbo for further programming!!
Cooperation Gumbo is a collaboration between cooperators, community artists, and neighborhood residents to uplift the histories and legacies of Black and Indigenous cooperation in New Orleans. Through cultural organizing strategies such as walking tours, community dinners, storycircles, and collaborative art making, they seek to highlight the ways that cooperation occurs within families, neighborhood groups, and local businesses and is mirrored in our larger practices of community care.
Full Moon Harvest Party
Did you know that Grow Dat on the Geaux has been tending to a garden in Central City?! No? Well, you should come check it out! On Thursday, October 17th, join Grow Dat on the Geaux for a family friendly event celebrating autumn and the full moon. At the Full Moon Harvest Gathering, we will have our organic produce sale, plant-friendly arts and crafts, food, and seasonal drinks, and will learn about the moon, in community. Come check out our garden and get swept in all the fall activities. This event is free!
Community Garden Fall Refresh
Join us for a seasonal refresh at our Grow Dat on the Geaux community garden beds in Central City! Next Saturday morning, September 28th, we will rework our beds from summer to fall veggies and rejuvenate our soil with compost and natural fertilizers. We hope to see you there, refreshments provided, and children welcome- bring the whole fam!
GDotG and Cooperation Gumbo
Grow Dat on the Geaux is partnering with @coopneworleans for their next community dinner! This round, they are bringing the discussion to our hub in Central City to learn and share about the historical neighborhood's impact and its legacy of cooperation.
Join us on Tuesday, August 20 5:30-7pm at 1224 S. Robertson St. 🌞 Free beverages and dinner provided!
Garden Work Day
See you Saturday in Central City! Grow Dat on the Geaux is hosting a Garden Work Day this Saturday (7/27) from 9:30-11am. Learn about micro greens with @knowdatgrowdat, get your body moving, and have some snacks with our GDotG community! 1214 S.Robertson St
Community Resource Fair
Enjoy this beautiful weekend, New Orleans, and we hope to see you next week for our Grow Dat on the Geaux Resource Fair! Tuesday evening, (4/30) from 5:30 to 7 pm we'll be partnering with some great local organizations for our second resource fair!
Community Health Fair
Grow Dat on the Geaux is teaming up with Dillard University, this Saturday (3/2) for a community health fair in central city! Come by for health and wellness screenings and get your hands in the dirt installing soil and plants with us! See you there, at Progressive Baptist Church 1214 South Robertson Street 70115 from 10am - 2pm!
