Beautiful roselle, a variety of hibiscus, in it's full glory on the farm! Did you know the tangy red tea, also known as jamaica or "red zinger" tea, is actually made from the calyx of the plant, not the flower? The bright red calyx encloses the seed pod after flower petals drop off. (You'll notice a flower dropping off in this picture on the right!) We share 30% of produce grown on the farm with Shared Harvest partners and facilitate opportunities for youth employees and members of our partner organizations to engage in mutual educational exchanges.
